WORLD REFUGEE DAY EVENT 2021

We invite you to join our annual World Refugee Day event on Monday, June 21, 2021 to “Celebrate Refugee Youth: Our Future Leaders”.

Refugee youth are tomorrow’s doctors, teachers, advocates, CEOs and they need our support to achieve their goals!

Our event will feature a panel discussion with refugee youth on how the community can support them to succeed. Guest speakers, Dr. Clayton Chau, Director of the Orange County Health Care Agency and Sheikh Yassir Fazaga, Mental Health Services Advisor to Access California Services (AccessCal), will share their past experiences as refugee youth. We will also be screening four films made by refugee youth in partnership with Al Jazeera Contrast. The event will end with Advocacy Through Artful Expression featuring a folk song performance and a live guitar performance. There will also be a raffle draw!

#WeAreAllRefugees is a social justice campaign that humanizes refugees and educates the public on their extraordinary contributions to humanity. Refugees deserve the right to safety in America. Refugees are not a liability. They are peacemakers, innovators, artists, musicians, educators, humanitarians and assets to our communities.  Refugees have made a positive impact locally and globally. Join us in celebrating the contributions of refugees and supporting their right to seek safety in the United States of America.
